About the event
Make the most out of the festival experience with the Full Education Pass.
Course chair: Dr. med. Jan von Recum from the BG Klinik in Ludwigshafen, Germany.
This course is a unique opportunity for experienced trauma surgeons to train in challenging procedures on pre-fractured human specimens with intact soft tissue mantle.
In our practice-oriented course concept "OK,DOC!" we prepare you optimally for your next assignment in the OR. In the theoretical online part, therapy decisions and surgical techniques on the knee are discussed in detail. You will receive tips for more structured planning, which will make your surgical procedure easier. With the Multi-Vendor Principle, you will learn about different implant systems for fracture treatment. Together with our experienced instructors, you will work in small groups on the specimen. The focus is on fracture treatment in the fully equipped wet lab with sufficient time to treat the fractures. You will be able to document each step of the care radiologically. You will then share and discuss your results with all course participants and instructors.
Experts in trauma surgery will accompany you during the operations and give you immediate feedback and valuable tips and tricks. You will receive extensive first-hand expert knowledge from the best in their field.
We look forward to welcoming you soon in Cologne!
The theoretical part will be held online.

What is the World Surgery Tour? The World Surgery Tour (WST) is a digital continuing education series in orthopedics and trauma surgery with a focus on spine surgery, recon, sports orthopedics and trauma surgery. The events combine hands-on live surgeries with a 3D virtual world so you can explore the event as an avatar, network with colleagues and experts, and follow along with the continuing education on the livestream. Surgeries performed by experts on lifelike pre-fractured human specimens generated by Rimasys [MW1] GmbH will be available to watch as a live stream in both the 3D virtual world and the "Cvent" event platform. The 3D virtual world will be accessible exclusively during the Grand Final. Continuing education credits by the medical associations will be requested for the events.
