FAQ The Summit
YES! We arranged the entire agenda in a way that allows you to join multiple topics.
While there are always 2 agendas running in parallel, we tried to choose topics, where there is usually little overlap in interest.
All agendas end with lunch and the following agendas start after the lunch break.
Example:
On Monday, we start with the Spine Degenerative and Trauma Upper Extremity agenda. These end Tuesday with lunch, and after lunch, we start our Sports & Recon Upper Extremity and Trauma Lower Extremity agendas, which you can choose from.
Feel free to get in touch to get assistance when selecting and booking multiple agendas.
There are multiple effective ways to travel to Cologne. Depending on the start of your journey, this will differ.
Cologne is very well connected both within Germany and its neighboring countries. A big highlight is always arriving directly next to Cologne’s famous cathedral.
There is also an additional train station where transregional trains stop called “Cologne-Deutz foires” / “KölnMesse / Deutz.” Multiple night train lines also stop at Cologne.
We are fortunate to have 3 international airports nearby. The closest is Cologne Bonn Airport (CGN). You can reach the city center within a few minutes from there by public transportation. Just a little further is Düsseldorf Airport (DUS). From here you can also reach Cologne city center by public transportation easily.
Additionally, Cologne is easily reached from Germany’s largest airport, Frankfurt am Main (FRA). From there, trains go directly to Cologne Central Station.
Of course, you can also get to Cologne by car. Our venue is located directly by exit 102 off A1.
There is free parking opposite our venue.
If you're driving to Cologne, you'll find free parking available right across the street from the venue.
For public transportation, Cologne has an extensive network operated by KVB. You can plan your journey using the local provider’s website, the German Federal Train Service (DB.de), or Google Maps, all of which offer reliable route options.
Additionally, several providers offer e-scooters and bikes for on-demand rental, though registration in advance is required.
For taxis and ride-hailing, you have multiple options, including traditional taxi services and platforms like Uber.
The hotels we are partnering with are the Motel One Mediapark, the Urban Loft, The Deutz and the Ruby Ella. Like any bigger city though, Cologne has many accommodation options to choose from.
First of all: Nice to meet you!
The World Surgery Tour is the educational branch of the Rimasys Group, a daughter company of the AO Foundation. It serves as the ultimate educational platform for orthopedic and trauma surgeons.
With our series of Hands-On courses, for some years now we have been providing the pinnacle of wetlab education, including our patented pre-injured specimens.
More than 30.000 doctors are already using our growing video platform WST TV.
It provides free on-demand access to recordings of live demonstrations from our previous events and some specifically scripted video series for certain operational techniques.
This year’s The Summit is the 5th evolution of our lighthouse event. Besides combining our other formats with this, we will bring together even more world-class faculty and participants for an overall experience you’ll never forget!
We are looking forward to seeing you in May!
All of our agendas will contain 5 hours of hands-on experience.
2.5 hours of these will be spent in our wetlab, where 3 participants will work under the guidance of 1 instructor on 1 specimen.
The other half will be split among 3 workshops to experience even more possibilities and practice certain operational steps.
Depending on the agenda these workshops vary between drybone labs, simulations, and others. You’ll find the details in the topic-specific agendas.
We are currently still finalizing all the sessions, so some people might still come aboard.
For all our projects, we work with leading surgeons and true experts in their field.
You can take a look at the confirmed The Summit 2025 faculty here.
The agenda is now available. Each registration page has a detailed agenda. Check it out!
This year the Trauma Next Gen & Innovation Agenda is designed for young surgeons.
The other agendas are designed for surgeons with 5+ years of experience in the respective specialty. We recommend keeping that in mind when booking your Summit experience.
Don’t worry, that’s a good thing. We pride ourselves on creating an open and welcoming atmosphere. One of our objectives is to provide a hub for exchange to allow everyone at the event to grow their personal network and take home new inspirational ideas.
This is not a problem. All the instructors take this into account. During the hands-on parts, you will have plenty of time to ask questions if you couldn't follow. And after the live sessions, you will have access to the on-demand version, so you can re-watch and pause parts if you need to.
Absolutely! And we encourage you to use it!
We will forward questions from the audience live to the operating surgeons.
During the non-surgical live sessions, you can ask your questions directly with the microphones we have available.
